Someone has to be in last place, that’s how it goes in football. Some teams can again ensure that they rise a number of places this week, and are therefore more certain of a place above the danger zone.
Jupiler Pro League
Kortrijk is in last place in the JPL, and will try to pull itself up against Eupen. It is now in 13th place with 14 points. If Kortrijk wins, it will jump over Westerlo and be on equal footing with OHL. If Eupen wins, it will jump out of the relegation zone and have the same number of points as RWDM.
KVC Westerlo is also in the relegation zone, with only Kortrijk still among them. They now have to try to maintain themselves against Anderlecht. But it will be difficult for the Gamecocks, because Anderlecht is doing well and is in second place.

Clermont is in 17th place and will play against Brest, in 7th place. Clermont must first play against Montpellier. That team is in 14th place and also plays against Monaco.
Bundesliga
In Germany, Darmstadt plays against Cologne on Friday. These teams are in 15th and 18th place respectively, with only 3 points difference. Cologne have only managed to win once in their last 5 games, another win would take them out of the danger zone for a while.
Bayern Munich, the most successful German team, will host Union Berlin on Saturday. Bayern does not have to fear relegation, but the team from the capital Berlin does: it is currently in 17th place with 7 points, just above Cologne.
Mainz 05, which is in 16th place with 8 points, will also play on Saturday. Against Freiburg, with 15 points in 9th place, they will try to get rid of the relegation threat.
Premier League
Burnley has only managed to score 4 points in 13 games, so they must try to work themselves up quickly. On Saturday they play against Sheffield United, who also have to be careful, because they are in 18th place with only 1 point more than Burnley.
The only team between them, Everton, plays against Nottingham Forest. Everton could barely move up 1 place with a win, while the team from Nottingham could immediately rise 4 places.
La Liga
The team that does seem like an impossible task is Real Madrid. The team from the capital is first, while Granada is in penultimate place. But Granada will not immediately end up in last place, because Almería has 4 points less.
Almeria are in 20th and last place, with 3 points after 14 games. They have to compete against Real Betis, but that will probably also be too big an obstacle. Real Betis is in 7th place with 24 points.
Celta, the third last, can also gain extra points this weekend. They will then play against Cádiz, which is 3 points above them. If Celta wins, it immediately rises 2 places.
Serie A
Empoli can get out of the relegation zone if they can win against Genoa. Not an impossible task either, because Genoa is in 15th place.
Salernitana is at the bottom of the table, while Fiorentina is in 7th place. Perhaps they can find some of the motivation from their previous match, when they won 2-1 against Lazio Roma. That was not easy either, because Lazio is in 11th place.
Hellas Verona has a great chance to take itself higher. They play against Udinese, which is in 16th place with 11 points. If they win, they will just jump out of the relegation zone.
