F1 Season: An Inside Look

With 10 teams, 20 race pilots, and 24 races in 21 countries, the new F1 season kicks off on Saturday, March 2nd in Bahrain. Once again, we’ll see all the racers who ended last season in action on the track. Can Max Verstappen maintain his favorite status, or will Oracle Red Bull Racing face tougher challenges this year?

Teams

For the first time in the sport’s history, the same lineup that ended last season is starting again. Below is a brief overview of the teams and racers.

Mercedes begins their season with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The modern team started in 2010, gaining significant recognition with Michael Schumacher’s sensational comeback. Subsequently, they achieved a lot of success with Nico Rosberg. A few years later, they partnered with Lewis Hamilton, making Mercedes a dominant force in F1 until Red Bull took over that position.

Alpine has Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon as racers. The team is relatively new to the pool, but it already has a rich history. In 2016, they took over the Lotus team, and in 2021, they underwent further renewal. Alpine has already won two world championships.

Haas is the youngest team, with Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg as racers. They made their debut in 2016, becoming the first team to be fully led by Americans in thirty years. However, last year they remained at the back of the rankings.

Red Bull was no stranger to F1 before the team was founded in 2004. The company existed as a sponsor. However, their success over the decade that followed was impressive. They achieved their first podium in 2006 and continued to gain more wins with drivers like Sebastian Vettel. They are now reclaiming that glory with the talent of Max Verstappen.

Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are the racers for McLaren. The team has been around since 1966, achieving great success over the years. For almost 60 years, they have secured numerous victories, pole positions, and podiums. Some of the best athletes have raced here: Emerson Fittipaldi, Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen, and Lewis Hamilton. In total, the team has won 8 world championships.

Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will drive for Aston Martin this year. More than fifty years ago, the team achieved some success, but it only lasted for five races. Recently, it has been trying to come to the forefront more and more, and with Alonso as a driver, it is definitely a team to watch.

At RB, Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo are driving. The team was founded in 2006 as a place where young racers from Red Bull could cut their teeth. Sebastian Vettel brought dignity to the team by winning in 2008 and then winning the world championship with the Red Bull Racing team.

At Ferrari, they are already looking forward to the arrival of Lewis Hamilton, but at the moment, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are driving. Ferrari is the only team that has participated in every season, so for many people, the team and Formula 1 are inseparable. Their success came quickly with drivers like Alberto Ascari and John Surtees, and continued with Niki Lauda and Michael Schumacher. They are also the only team outside of Red Bull Racing to win a GP last year.

At Kick Sauber, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu are starting the season. The team was founded in 1993 by Peter Sauber and has since established itself as a fixture on the grid. Recently, they raced under Alfa Romeo, and soon they will race under Audi. Last year was a bit disappointing for the Swiss team.

The last team is Williams Racing, with Alexander Albon and Logan Sergeant as racers. The team has accumulated a number of trophies and has also trained some big talents. Last year, they finished 7th in the final ranking.
