On Friday, June 14, the first match of EURO 2024 will be played, with host nation Germany facing Scotland. Here you can see all the teams and their key players.
Group A
Germany is the host country for this year’s European Championship. Football legend Toni Kroos is participating again with Die Mannschaft, along with Manuel Neuer, captain Ilkay Gündogan, Thomas Müller, and Leverkusen revelation Florian Wirtz.

Spain traditionally has one of the best squads, and this year is no different. Experienced players Dani Carvajal and Nacho join captain Alvaro Morata and young Lamine Yamal on the field. During the qualifiers, Morata and Joselu each scored 4 goals.
Croatia will once again be led by captain Luka Modric. He plays alongside Ivan Perisic and Mateo Kovacic, but the top scorer during the qualifiers was Andrej Kramaric, who scored 4 goals.
Italy has goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as captain, in a squad that includes 5 players from Inter Milan and 4 players from AS Roma. Davide Frattesi, from Inter Milan, scored the most goals for the Italian team during the qualifiers.
For Albania, Berat Gjimshiti from the Italian club Atalanta is the captain. The top scorers during the qualifiers for this country were Jasir Asani and Nedim Bajrami, both scoring three goals for Albania.
Group C
Slovenia will be led by goalkeeper Jan Oblak. For the Slovenians, Benjamin Sesko was the top scorer during the qualifiers. Josip Ilicic and Andraz Sporar also regularly score for Slovenia.
Denmark brings together a strong squad under the leadership of Simon Kjaer. The captain is supported by Anderlecht goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, Andreas Christensen, Rasmus Hojlund, Christian Eriksen, and Kasper Dolberg. In total, there are 5 JPL players in this squad.
Serbia presents Dusan Tadic from Fenerbahce as captain. The top scorer during the qualifiers was Aleksandar Mitrovic from Al Hilal. Additionally, Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina and Filip Kostic from Juventus play for Serbia.
England is still seeking their first major title after finishing second in 2020 and not reaching the end in the last two World Cups. Harry Kane was the top scorer during the qualifiers and will again be the captain, in a squad that includes Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish, and Phil Foden from Manchester City.
Group D
For the Netherlands, Virgil van Dijk will be the captain. The Oranje head to the EURO with Cody Gakpo and Wout Weghorst, who both scored 3 goals during the qualifiers. Other notable names include Daley Blind and Jeremie Frimpong.
France will once again be present at this European Championship with Kylian Mbappé as captain. The young Frenchman will play in a team with much experience, including Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann.
Poland will be represented again by captain Robert Lewandowski. The experienced striker is joined by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, Piotr Zielinski, and Michal Skoras from Club Brugge.
Austria qualified with goals from, among others, Marcel Sabitzer. The midfielder scored 4 goals during the qualifying matches. Other well-known names in the team include Christoph Baumgartner, Marko Arnautovic, and Michael Gregoritsch.
Group E
Belgium will once again be joined by Axel Witsel after a year’s absence. Maxim De Cuyper will also make his first appearance for the national team. Additionally, Jan Vertonghen, Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku will be present.
Slovakia chooses Milan Skriniar as captain. Under his leadership, Lukas Haraslin scored 3 goals during the qualifying matches. Juraj Kucka and Ondrej Duda will also be there, as well as Genk midfielder Patrik Hrosovsky.
Romania has Nicolae Stanciu as captain and top scorer, along with Valentin Mihaila and Denis Alibec. Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin also plays for this national team.
Ukraine is the last country in this group, with Oleksandr Zinchenko as captain. The Arsenal midfielder plays with goal-getter Andriy Yarmolenko, Roman Yaremchuk, and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
Group F
For Turkey, they certainly choose Kerem Aktürkoglu and Cenk Tosun, as both players scored 2 important goals for the Turkish team. Alongside them are Hakan Calhanoglu from Inter Milan and Salih Özcan from Borussia Dortmund.
Georgia is participating for the first time as an independent country, with captain Guram Kashia. The Slovan Bratislava defender plays with top scorer Kvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli and Giorgi Chakvedatze from Watford.
Portugal will likely break the record for the oldest player in the EURO 2024 this summer, as defender Pepe turned 41 this year. Alongside him plays captain Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Jota, and goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
The Czech Republic comes to this European Championship with Tomas Soucek as captain. He scored, along with Vaclav Cerny, 3 goals during the qualifiers. The Czech team also includes Patrick Schick from Bayer Leverkusen and Antonin Barak from Fiorentina.
