EURO 2024: Outrights

Outrights

The UEFA Euro 2024 kicks off on June 14, and after a month we will know who will win the tournament this year. In this article, we look at the chances for the teams to become group winners or overall winners, as well as who might be the top scorer and the Golden Ball winner.

Group Winners

Host nation Germany (1.32) aims to perform better than in recent years, where they did not go very far in major tournaments. On home soil, they have the best chances to win their group against Switzerland (6.25), Hungary (8.50), and Scotland (11.00).

Group B is a tough group, with Italy (3.00) and Croatia (5.50), but Spain (1.83) is expected to be the group winner according to the odds. Albania (26.00) has the least chance.

England (1.32), also a strong contender to win the tournament, is expected to top Group C. Denmark (5.50) also has a good chance of finishing at the top of the group. For Serbia (9.00) and Slovenia (15.00), it will be more challenging.

France (1.52) is one of the top favorites for the Euro. In Group D, they will face the Netherlands (3.80), which is likely to finish second in the group. Austria (9.00) and Poland (12.00) will find it very difficult.

Belgium (1.50) is expected to have little resistance, but it will be interesting to see what Ukraine (4.25) can do. Romania (7.50) hopes to finish second, but Slovakia (11.00) faces a tough challenge.

It’s no surprise that Portugal (1.45) is the favorite to win their group. Two of their opponents, Turkey (5.00) and the Czech Republic (6.50), have similar chances of finishing second, and Georgia (17.00) has almost no chance.

Tournament Winner

According to experts, England (4.25) has the best chance of winning the tournament. In the previous edition, they reached the final, where they lost to Italy on penalties. With top talents like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Phil Foden, ‘The Three Lions’ are certainly expected to succeed.

France (4.50) is also a strong contender. ‘Les Bleus’ have been playing under coach Didier Deschamps for some time, who led France to World Cup victory in 2018 and to the final of the 2022 World Cup. All eyes will be on star player Kylian Mbappé.

Germany (6.50) could perform well on home soil. Since their World Cup win in 2014, they have been somewhat in the background, so ‘Die Mannschaft’ wants to regain confidence. Football legend Toni Kroos was specially called up for this edition, and with names like Manuel Neuer, Antonio Rüdiger, and Leverkusen revelation Florian Wirtz, they have a good chance.

Spain (7.50) could also do well. They got a boost from adding the Nations League to their record, making them a favorite for the Euro. With Manchester City star Rodri, who his coach Pep Guardiola described as ‘the best in Europe,’ Spain’s midfield remains very strong.

Portugal (8.00) rounds out the top five. With coach Roberto Martinez, Portugal became the team that scored the most and conceded the fewest goals. Besides Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe, the team is full of talent, such as Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix, and Gonçalo Ramos. Ronaldo only had Romelu Lukaku ahead of him as top scorer during the qualifiers.

Top Scorer

Kylian Mbappé (5.00) is expected to score the most goals. The young Frenchman recently announced his transfer to Real Madrid but wants to first see what he can do for his country. Harry Kane (6.00) is also a top contender for most goals. The experienced Englishman is always crucial for his national team and wants to maintain that status.

Cristiano Ronaldo (13.00) is in third place. During the qualifiers, he was behind Romelu Lukaku (13.00), who now shares the same odds. Other contenders include Kai Havertz (21.00) and Jude Bellingham (21.00), who also have strong chances of being the top scorer during this tournament.

Golden Ball

The best player of the tournament is expected to be Kylian Mbappé (6.50). In the World Cup final in Qatar, he scored a phenomenal hat-trick and excelled in the qualifiers. So, it’s very likely that this Frenchman will be the best of the tournament.

All eyes will also be on Jude Bellingham (9.50). After a top season with Real Madrid, winning La Liga and the Champions League titles, he could be the best of the tournament.

In the same team, Harry Kane (12.00) and Phil Foden (13.00) also have strong chances of being the best. With so much talent in one team, it becomes clearer why England has such a high chance of winning. Many of these players have had a good season with their clubs, gaining a lot of confidence.

Football legend Toni Kroos (17.00) also had a good season with Real Madrid and is closely followed in this category by Kevin De Bruyne (19.00) and Cristiano Ronaldo (19.00).
