On June 14, host country Germany will kick off the European Championship against Scotland. 24 teams from 6 groups will first play against each other for a spot in the round of 16. Which teams will compete in the final round this year?
Groups
Germany, as the host country, is in Group A. As mentioned earlier, Die Mannschaft will open the European Championship against Scotland. There will also be a lot of talent on the field in Group C. England is one of the big favorites for the title, but Denmark also has several key players. Finally, Slovenia and Serbia will not give up easily.
We see another very strong group with favorite France. We expect almost the same lineup on the field as during the World Cup final in Qatar. Along with Poland and the Netherlands, it will be a big challenge for Austria, which is not immediately considered a top favorite. Poland will probably have to do it with Robert Lewandowski for the last time, as the striker is also getting older. The Netherlands also has several uncertainties due to injuries, so we have to wait and see.
Belgium has a good mix of experience and young talent. The Red Devils have slightly less strong opposition, but still, no teams they can underestimate. Portugal is the absolute top favorite in Group F. The team is led by the former coach of Belgium, Roberto Martinez. He is doing very well so far, as Portugal scored the most and conceded fewer goals than any other European Championship country during the qualifiers. Cristiano Ronaldo will play with Portugal against the Czech Republic, Georgia, and Turkey.
