Spa-Francorchamps
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is a race circuit located in the municipality of Stavelot, in the province of Liège. The first races were held on various public roads starting in 1921, and since 1950, the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix has been organized annually. After several incidents, the circuit had to be made safer, leading to the opening of a redesigned 7 km track in 1979.

Max Verstappen has already won the last three editions of Spa-Francorchamps and appears to be in excellent form again this year, though he has fewer victories than in 2023. He dominated the entire season last year, rarely finishing off the top spot, but this season he has missed out on victory six times. However, he probably won’t be too worried, as he still leads the overall ranking with 7 wins.
At the Hungarian GP, the McLaren team achieved an impressive 1-2 finish, with Oscar Piastri in first place and Lando Norris right behind him. Verstappen finished fifth in that race, while his teammate Sergio Perez came in seventh. Until one of the final laps, it seemed Norris would go for the win, but the McLaren crew encouraged him to let Piastri pass, giving Piastri his first GP victory. If Norris had gone for the win, he would have two GP victories to his name. Now, he stands behind Verstappen with 1 victory and 5 podium finishes.
Ferrari is also having a good season, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz ranked 3rd and 4th, each with one GP win and 5 podium finishes. In the last race at the Hungaroring, Leclerc finished 4th, and Sainz came 6th. Only a frustrated Max Verstappen finished between them in 5th place. Leclerc and Sainz might take confidence from the fact that Ferrari holds the record for the most wins at Spa-Francorchamps.
Another great driver who could challenge Max Verstappen is Lewis Hamilton. The Brit has won only one GP this year and has been on the podium three times, but he is a seven-time world champion for a reason. One of his podium finishes this year was last Sunday when he finished third in Hungary. During that race, there was a minor incident when his car made contact with Verstappen’s, but it ultimately did not cause much damage.
