How do you bet on football according to the cake model?

Novice bettors often choose their bets by feel. But if you really want to bet on football seriously, a good strategy is crucial. A common strategy is the pie model, which many people use. Here at Magic Betting, we explain the basics to you.

What does the cake model look like?

The cake model is a clever strategy where you spread your odds across several bets.

Before you start betting, you choose an amount you want to use. Suppose you decide to play 50 euros. You can think of this amount as a whole cake. Using the cake model, you cut this cake into 10 equal pieces, each worth 5 euros. For each bet you place, you can bet a maximum of one piece of the cake. In our example, this means the following bets:

  • 1/10 cake = 5 euros
  • 2/10 cake = 10 euros
  • 3/10 cake = 15 euros
  • 4/10 cake = 20 euros
  • 5/10 cake = 25 euros
  • 6/10 cake = 30 euros
  • 7/10 cake = 35 euros
  • 8/10 cake = 40 euros
  • 9/10 cake = 45 euros
  • 10/10 cake = 50 euros

Spread your odds with the cake model

What makes the cake model so special is that you spread your odds. But that doesn’t mean that for 10 different bets, you simply bet 1/10 of your pie.

For real success with the cake model, you need to properly assess the odds of each bet. Do you see a bet with a high reward but low odds of winning? Then it’s smart to bet only 1/10 of your pie on that. For bets where you have a slightly higher chance of winning, in our example, it is better to bet 10, 15 or 20 euros.

If you come across a bet that you think you can actually win, then bet 5/10, 6/10 or 7/10 of your pie model. And if you are almost certain you are going to win, then of course you bet a larger portion of your budget. After all, the pie model is all about making a profit.

Every strategy has pros and cons

The pie model, like any strategy, has its pros and cons. For many people, the spread probability is the main reason for working with this model. You can even bet on difficult bets without it costing you a lot of money, because you estimate your chances of winning well in advance.

But if you want to make a quick profit, this strategy is not the best choice. This is because you are putting a large part of your budget on bets with a high probability of winning, and other gamblers see that too. As a result, the amount you win will be relatively low.

On the other hand, the pie model is perfect for the long term because you build up your winnings gradually. No matter how high your stake is, the ratios will always remain the same. Because you spread your odds, you can never lose all your balance at once. So the pie model is ideal for those who don’t want to take too much risk. But if you really dream of that big win, it might be better to consider a different strategy.
