When it comes to online sports betting, Magic Betting offers various ways to bet on sporting events, including single bets, combination bets, and system bets. While both involve multiple predictions, the crucial difference lies in how they are handled and the level of risk involved. Read all about it in this article.
Combination Bets (Combi)
A combination bet, or “combi”, consists of at least two bets. The defining feature of a combi bet is that all individual predictions must be correct in order to win. If even one selection in the combination is incorrect, the entire bet is lost. The advantage of this type of bet is that it can significantly multiply your stake—and thus your potential winnings—since the odds of the individual bets are multiplied together.
System Bets (System)
A system bet is a more advanced form of betting that offers greater flexibility and a built-in safety net. Unlike a combination bet, a system bet allows you to win even if not all your predictions are correct. This makes it less risky than a pure combination bet.
With system bets, you place a separate stake on each generated combination. This means your total stake will be higher than with a combination bet involving the same number of selections. Your eventual payout depends on which combinations are correct and their respective odds.
To place a system bet, you select at least three events or predictions (also known as “tips” or “selections”). We then automatically generate all possible combinations of accumulators / multiple bets within the chosen system.
Here are a few examples of how system bets work:
- System 2/3 (2 out of 3): This system requires three predictions and consists of three separate combination bets, each containing two matchups. To win, at least two of the three predictions must be correct. For example, if you bet on Scotland–Portugal, Scotland–Austria, and Portugal–Austria, and two of those combinations are correct, you win.
- System 2/4 (2 out of 4): With four predictions, this system generates six double bets. You win if at least two of the four predictions are correct. If one of your predictions is incorrect, you lose the combinations that include that prediction, but you can still win on the ones that are correct.
- Yankee System Bet: This system requires four predictions and includes a total of eleven bets: six doubles, four trebles, and one fourfold accumulator. To win, at least two tips must be correct.
- Trixie System Bet: With three predictions, this system consists of four bets: three doubles and one treble. You win if at least two of the three predictions are correct.
The total stake amount for a system bet is usually higher than for a combination bet, as you are placing a stake on each generated combination individually. For example, a System 2/3 with a stake of €0.30 per combination results in a total stake of €1.00.
At Magic Betting, odds are subject to change and may vary by trading channel. However, once a bet has been placed and confirmed, it is not affected by later odds changes. Magic Betting reserves the right to cancel selections in the case of human or system errors where the price deviates substantially from the general market. Bets cannot be withdrawn or modified once they have been placed and accepted; the user is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the bet details.
“Accumulator/Multiple Bets” are not accepted if the outcome of one part of the bet contributes to the outcome of another part. In such cases, the stake will be split equally among the selections for settlement purposes. Bets are void if the result is already known and not reflected in the odds. In the case of postponed or interrupted matches, bets will stand only if the match is rescheduled and played within 24 hours (or before the end of the tournament for competitions). If the venue of a match changes, bets will stand unless the home and away teams are reversed, in which case they will be void.
System bets therefore offer a strategic approach to spreading risk when betting on multiple outcomes, increasing the chance of winning compared to the all-or-nothing nature of combination bets. Although they may seem complex and require higher stakes, they are designed to maximize winning potential and provide a safety net against total loss from a few incorrect predictions. Due to their complexity, they are often recommended for more experienced bettors.
